![]() I searched Trip Advisor and Cashunt popped up. I was looking for a fun family outing for the holidays - something other than an escape room or museum. (About $20 ish I would guess) There is also adequate staff there, so I never felt unsafe at any time There is parking lot there but I am not sure how much it is. The price mark-up was not as much as I expected, so kudos to them or that. Expect to pay about $10-12 for a sandwich and $3-4 for basic beverages. There are a bunch of food options there including A dessert place, a pizza place, a burger place and also a Chickie and Petes. There is a small arcade there too.skeeball etc. There are a few discounts including college students ad group rates, so ask before paying. There were helpers/assistants on the rink as well to regulate traffic and help out. There is of course ice skating which is $4 for ice skating with a $10 for skate rental. On a Sunday night, there were a lot of people there but I wouldn't say it was overcrowded. If you got on top you can get some great photos of everything. The Scenery is amazing with the ice rink, tree and shops set to the backdrop of the river and bridge. We at the HIlton PEnn's LAnding Hotel which is a 5 minute walk to the RiverRink. We took a weekend trip to Philadelphia from NYC during the holidays. When we're in the area, I could absolutely see us returning and bringing more family with us. ![]() Kids just older than that will still enjoy some of the outdoor stuff, but not inside. If you're looking for something fun to do with kids under 5-6, this is perfect. ![]() I'm guessing that Staff were volunteers, but they were friendly and provided information about the place. Don't expect brand new fixtures in the restrooms, but they were generally clean. The house is big with classic architecture. There are restrooms accessible inside and out. There are water fountains and water bottle fill stations available about the playgrounds. There's no A/C, but staff opened windows and turned fans on HIGH to keep the air moving. There appear to be a couple of classrooms with kid-sized tables and chairs. Indoors, 3 separate floors contain plenty of room to be creative with drama, music, blocks, a doll house, a shop with grocery carts and a cash register, and more. There must be 7-8 separate playgrounds/areas for kids to play outdoors that feature swings, non-traditional seesaws, whimsical pirate ship themed jungle gyms, a hardwood slide built in the early 1900s, a huge climbing jungle gym "thing" with a trampoline in the center, and plenty more! There are plenty of benches for parents/teachers/grandparents, and there's a good amount of shade (yes!) even on these hot August days. It was soon apparent that this place is a favorite with daycare centers and other groups of kids. Soon, we parked in the shade along the drive to the mansion and walked to the entrance. Lovely drive along the river lead to the grand entrance to the park just South of the reservoir, with a huge statue of Grant. I discovered Smith Playground via Google Maps, did some quick research, and jumped in the car. Visiting Philly for family wedding and needed a fun activity to keep our 3 year old active and the family entertained on a hot, breezy Thursday.
